Batting:
RH slow. Batting at number 11 in the As for many years established the foundations of a club record that will never be beaten - most not outs!
Bowling:
Slow medium these days. Swing it either way depending on mood, but inswing in my A grade days
Preferred fielding spot:
First slip 'cause I like a chat. Been there about 4 times
Your most memorable cricketing feat:
A Grade flag in 1992. After the tied grand final the year before it was more of a relief than anything else
Most admired Reds cricketer:
It couldn't be a batsman. And it is hard to go past the old firm of Bickle, Langley and Attrill, but Jim Todd was the the best keeper I ever bowled to, with great intensity, an astute awareness of the unfolding game, hard as nails, and you could get him to laugh if you were stupid and silly enough. Tim Powell was the greatest bat the club has seen.
Most admired non-Reds Mercantile cricketer:
None. What a stupid question
Most admired international cricketer:
Mike Hendrick. One of the great back of a length seamers of all time. Close second is Malcolm Marshall - frightening!
Funniest Reds moment:
After our first win against Coles we spotted one of their batsman still trying to get his bat out of a tree where it had lodged after Bickle had terrified him out.
Best sledge heard/given/experienced:
"They're all ordinaries" (Kent Middleton to Stock Exchange)
